Yesterday I put in new plugs, NGK BCPR7ES-11, gapped to .035". Car is a '99 9-3. Now today, I have a CEL. I put dielectric grease on the first inch or so of the inside of the DI boot, and I put just a bit pf permatex anti-seize on the plug threads, but nowhere near the electrode. Torqued to 20 ft*lbs. What could have caused the CEL?? I hope I didn't screw anything up.
The plugs I took out seemed OK, they were NGK platinums, and the gap was still perfect. I'll put them back in, disconnect battery for a bit, and see if the CEL is gone. If not, what could it be??
Thanks guys. I'm worried because I'm taking a mini-trip tomorrow, about 2 hours each way. The car seems to be running fine though, just the CEL.
