I am considering buying a 1998 900 SE but don't know enough about any quirks. Do the NG900's still have a problem with the CV boots? Any problems with the sunroofs? The 900 I'm looking at has an engine light that stays on but apparently the sellers have had it checked out numerous times and the shop has never found anything wrong. However, the digital display has a message that reads "low coolant." But the sellers say that the low coolant light seems to be connected to the engine light and again, they cannot find the cause as to why there is a "low coolant" message. Strangely enough the car that has caused me to go shopping, a 1992 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi with 241,000 miles, also had a check engine light and read low coolant...and eventually the car puttered out. There were a number of codes however that came up when my shop tested that car for the engine light but the low coolant light was a mystery on the Bonnie as well. So, is it a GM thing, a Saab thing, or just coincidence? One last question: is 1998 the first model year for what are collectively known as NG900's. Any help would be great. Thanks.
