The clutch is made up off two pieces, the electro magnet that the belt attachs to and the disc that bolts on the end of the compressor. THe disc gets drawn down toward the clutch when the magnet is enerigzed. Over time the metal gap between these pieces expands as they are worn down by rubbing against each other. If you grind the bottom of the disc (the part that sits inside the clutch) down, then you can reduce the gap between to the two parts.
