New brake pads installed -- now wheels overheating

I had new brake pads and rotors installed 2 weeks ago, at the time of a tech. inspection. Today, after 1 hour trip, I noticed that the front wheels are so hot that I cannot hold my finger to them. Compared this to another SAAB that made the same trip with me -- its wheels were just warm.
So, something is definitely wrong with the new pads.
I've searched the previous posts, and found some other people experiencing the same problem.
Would anybody know what can be causing this?
I removed the wheel and looked at the brakes, but I could not see or understand anything ... It appears to me that new new pads are too close to the rotor, and they are rubbing on it anytime the wheel is spinning.
Is there anything that can be adjusted in this mechanism?
Thank you very much,
-- Nick
