I guess the thing to remember with the antenna's, at least from what I know about my Sirius, is that it is not just the little black piece, but when mounted on a metal surface, it reaches out (if memory serves me correctly) up to five inches around it as the antenna. But it can only use what metal is around it as the additional area, so if you have it on your dash, it's only the antenna itself, and you'll be more likly to lose signal. As I don't have a vert, I can't help you with location, just wanted to give you something to consider when figuring placement.
