You may have to replace your clutch in the near future. Along the same lines as Ron said, the throwout bearing loses its lubrication and binds, causing the cable to work harder than it was designed to, and fails prematurely. The hydraulic system has a newer throwout bearing design, which is integrated into the slave cylinder. If you can afford it, then by all means convert it to a hydraulic clutch, but if you have someone do it, it can get expensive. I changed the clutch and installed a hydraulic system in my '97 by myself, which saved hundreds of dollars. I don't regret it for a second. Another option is to just use a manually adjustable clutch cable. It doesn't have the failure-prone automatic adjuster that Saab's cable does and won't break as easily. Napa makes a very good one.
