Sludged Saab--1999 Sludge--9-3 S Convert

I have a 1999 9-3 S Convert--B204L engine. My engine failed last month with 67,880 _very_ well-cared for miles. Saab USA told me if I could prove regular oil maintenance and have the engine diaganosed at a dealership in Atlanta ($600 to remove the valve cover and drop the pan), they would honor the 8-year extended engine warranty for the slude issue pending review.
I'm the third owner, but was able to document 13 oil changes--6 at Saab dealerships--many more than required in the owner's manual every 10k miles.
After a month, now Saab USA is telling me--'since you are the 3rd owner, there is no evidence the car was maintained properly--sorry, u r SOL.'
I'm furious as I hand-delivered an inch-thick binder of maintenance records including receipts of all the oil changes I could document. I happen to know there were more, but what I provided should have been more than sufficient. I was ENCOURAGED to jump through their costly hoops and KNOW that Saab USA has honored the warranty for other 2nd and 3rd owners of their vehicles. I was even told that even though the 1999 9-3 S convert B204s were not included in the original 8-year engine warranty announcement in March 2005, that they could help me.
Has anyone come to this impasse and surmounted the hurdle? If so, what should I do next? I feel abused and misled. Had the answer been pre-determined as it seems to be, Saab's customer service should not be giving 199 9-3 owners false hope and putting them through costly diagnostic procedures. I knew after paying my local euro car specialist $75 that I had a seized engine. Did NOT need to give a Saab dealership another $600 to learn what I already knew. I could have had the car up and running weeks ago and been done with this. I've now been in a rental car for 5 weeks and am still weeks away from a repaired engine.
I'm lucky to be alive as are all the folks behind me the night it seized in the far left lane of a 6 lane interstate. I was luckily going fast enough to have enough momentum to get to the shoulder before it would roll no more.
Very unlucky to be facing a $10,000 engine repair. I still owe $5000 on the car.
Anyone have a contact at Saab in Sweden or GM in the states?
Any help/advice is much appreciated--I can be contacted at atroscla on bellsouth.
Thanks all!
