I forgot to look for wiring drawings, etc... so I'm sorta guessing.
I think if you find the right wire coming off the headlight switch directly, it will switch on & off. Those wires somehow go to the computer (DICE, whatever...), they don't actually go to the lights. The actual light circuits are controlled by the computer, & they're energized based on switch position, fuse 15, Tech-2 settings, etc...
I had a similar situation with another car... I took the stereo out of an Integra, put it into an '89 900. The Integra stereo wanted a simple switched voltage, but the C900 provided a rheostat-driven lamp circuit. I just wired it into the parking-light circuit directly at the headlight switch.
