The student P/L thing is definitely valid. I park far away from everybody else, even in my 1995 900S. In terms of the Viggen, get it for yourself, and get him a later NG900S. I would also recommend cloth seats, since they don't require the maintenence that leather does.
heh, thinking back now. Coming back from a roadtrip with my friend recently, he reached up and turned the visor, snapping it off. Accidental, but still. He drives a honda, so I guess that can be expected. :)
