Hi,I just purchased a 96 900s with 93k auto, the cost $600 because it would not start previous owner had taken it to many different shops, fuel pump relay, fuel pump, new battery andeach time it would run for a few days then die.when i returned home with the car the battery was dead so i take out of my 900se 97 and alarm is beeping nothing will turn it of so i swap alarm module no more beeping, but no start does want to crank to well,so i start taking voltage readings and different readings all the time if i sprayed starting fluid would stumble a little but not run then die,so i changed the ignition switch, presto all voltage readings i had checked before were good but car still will not start, with starting fluid runs very good but is not getting gas,so i check if i am getting voltage to the fuel pump no.so then i go to check relays a previous mechanic had changed the relay but as i looked all the relays had greasy fingerprints all over so i pull out the relays they are all bosch but the ones that are 4 prong are actually replaced with 5 prong relays so i changed all still no power at the pump so i check voltage at the fuse box, when cranking engine over jumps up from 0 to 11.95 volts so i think ok a short in the line so i hot wire the pump runs fine.I went to alltdata and i only have schematics for a 95 and what it says the relay locations are is not the same on my 96 it says the 3rd relay up from the bottom right as you look at it with retaining tab down that supossed to be overheated cat converter but i have a hole there, but my fuel pump relay it says should be the 2nd up from the right, and fuel inj 1st. i dont think thats the problem.I went out and checked the cps sensor it reads 910 ohms and looks new even though previous owner never said it was changed. if any one has an idea please help i dont have much more hair or paitence left thanks
