There are a lot of things a sway bar can do, but reduce torque steer really isn't one of them. An older Tech Tidbits column from Road & Track explained that anti-roll bars tie the wheels together and have the effect of slightly reducing the independence of the suspension. Combined with the stiffer springs and shocks and lower ride height of the Viggen, an anti-roll bar as stiff as the SE's wasn't necessary, or even desireable.
If you're replacing the CV joints, buying a new or used driveshaft is by far the easier way to go. Replacing the joints is a royal PITA, beyond what most DIY mechanics would want to do, and is why some companies, like Honda, will even sell you a rebuilt driveshaft through their dealers. 52,000 miles is really low for one to go out though, unless somehow a boot got ripped. In that case you'd lose the joint in a matter of weeks.
