quite true about the oil lines -- the placement is a major design flaw...it allows the oil in the line to "cook" and potentially "coke" which at worse is going to block oil flow and at best contribute to sludge formation -- replacement is a good idea
there was a recall (2000) to change the fittings to have a larger oil feed hole...wonder how many got that recall done -- you almost have to remove the turbo to perform the replacement.
the exhaust manifold warpage (at the head) is quite common...the thermal expansion differential between the alumnium head and the cast manifold puts quite a stress on the exhaust manifold studs -- especially the no. 1 and no. 4 cylinder. once the stud is broken, the manifold can begin to warp since it is no longer clamped to the head surface and it will assume a different position on each temperature cycle.
