This work was done by the same Saab dealer that did the original work under the warranty. I had originally experienced that popping noise that so many of us have commented on. They replaced the control arms with new ones. These were improperly installed leading to the complete separation that we saw yesterday. The Service Manager nearly freaked out when he realized what had happened. In the past I have liked this dealer but they really have had problems with service recently. Two months ago I had the car in for a starting problem. They didn't return any phone calls from my wife and I for more than 3 days. When I finally got the car the work order said that the car had been fixed three days earlier. They had apparently forgotten to call me. The service person got fired for this. I have owned Saabs for more than 30 years and am a sophisticated owner so I expect good service. They claim that some of this poor service is related to the GM influence overcoming the old Saab mentality.
