The NG900 convertibles all use electric motors (6 of them) to run the top.
The 9-3 use an electric motor to run a hydraulic pump that in turn operates the top cylinders.
Are you saying that the "main stack" is not lifting on left side or is it the plastic "tonneau cover" or is it the "5th bow" (tail end of main stack).
Is it not lifting from when you try to open the top or closing it?
Convertible top problems can be plenty and different scenarios and hard to find, especially if the car is new to you and you don't have the history of how the problem appeared the first time.
I have had plenty of cars coming in with a new owner where the car has been tinkered with by other shops not having the proper tools or knowledge for the convertible top. It can take awhile to straighten out what the other shop created and then start to look for the real problem.
