You guys are taking some awful risks running regular grade fuel in a turbo car. I don't know if the manual recommends it or requires it (I'd have to check) but all I know is that where I live (Wash. D.C. area) you will be knocking and pinging all summer long if you ran regular grade fuel. That is murder on your engine, and could lead to pre-detonation, which could (theoretically) put a hole in the top of one of your pistons.
Now it could be in the area you live or the station at which you get your gas is playing around with the grades, and the premium isn't actually premium gas. That happens with surprising frequency. But I'd say if you want to keep you car a long time and avoid engine problems, running the "good" stuff is a must.
