Help, I did a stupid thing with my battery (Long)

Hi, I have a 96 900 SET. 5spd
The battery went bad ( wouldn't hold charge)
I bought a new battery, but when I went to install it I didn't notice the
positive and Neg terminals where in the wrong position,
I placed the positive clamp on the Neg terminal and for a brief few seconds, touched the Neg Clamp to the positive terminal. The Horn beeped once. ( yes I was stupid) I got a different Battery with the correct position terminals. I hooked up the battery. when i tried to start the car, it will turn over and won't start.
I called the Saab dealer, they said the alarm may need to be reset,
they told me to lock and unlock with the FOB, then turn the Key to the "Run" position for 40 mins, then turn off the key for 5 mins and then start the car. It still won't start (but it turns over).
In the past I have had misfire codes, I wonder if it is the DIC?
I am also wondering if it's the ECU ( would it have reset it self)
I have checked the 4 fuses beside the battery and all the fuses inside driver's door. I spoke to a Garage in Toronto who is known to be good at Saab's he doesn't think the ECU would have fried because I didn't try to start the car with the battery hooked up backwards.
BTW it's cold here so I don't think the CPS is acting up. ( could it have fried?)
Any suggestions (yes, I now read the owner's manual for my brain)
