My apologies for the identity crisis.

My first question would be is it an SE? The SE model had nicer features, dual power seats with drivers memeory, upgraded stereo with subwoofers in the doors and most importantly, automatic digital climate control (ACC) which is more durable than the knob set up. The SE 5 speed also has 20 ish more horsepower that year. Not that I would reject a non-SE for the right price, color, etc, but the price you quote is a skosh high for a non-SE and not a steal for an SE, but pretty fair if the car clears all the hurdles.

I'd wanna' be sure that the service history is up to date as in who and where has the car been serviced, no mystery cars at the price. The 60k service was likely not done if the previous owner was planning on a trade in soon. We're talkin' a 6 year old car that's right in the middle of the major maintenance cycle, so I'd want a mechanics inspection, a reputable Saab indepedent would be the first choice, a dealer would be good but probably a little pricey.

The 2000's where pretty much the perfected 9-3, not many changes from that through the last 2002's. Should have many more miles and smiles left, lotta' car for the money, blows 325's off the road for way less and the hatch swallows stuff you just can't get in any other car. All the modern safety sytems and a good sturdy car to boot.

Enjoy!
