I think that a 9V radio battery will work. Connecting to 12V will fry it!

With a T5, you can let air into the TB and mixture will not be adversely affected. You can discon the IAC inlet, start the engine and see the IAC working and moving. You can put your hand over the TB to change its flow and watch the IAC open to compensate.

This is a good excuse to get a digital volt/multi meter (DVM/DMM).

Do not see year/miles/engine.

The IAC will get fouled and needs to be cleaned. Otherwise may one day start to stick and idle speed control and/or starting can become a mess. Search for "cleaning IAC" and note the need for lubrication. While doing this, you may want to also clean the TB, also note need for lubrication. And don't apply any force to the nylon PVC TEE.
