Thanks for the follow-up, Anders. I don't see the conflicting statements you're talking about, but okay. I've been saying from my first post that the engine simply doesn't crank or even do anything when I try to start it. The battery was dead, but I was jumping the car with my Explorer so that was just a sidenote. Now that it's been replaced, however, I still get nothing when I turn the key all the way to "start". So I've mentioned that, I've mentioned that it's obviously not a spark or fuel issue since the starting circuit simply doesn't engage at all and I've mentioned that I don't believe it to be the starter itself because the car died on the highway when it wasn't using the starter. So...now that we've clarified everything....

With the new battery (just as with jumping like I said before) I get full juice into the system and all electrical accessories work perfectly, but absolutely nothing on the "start" function.

I'll try jumping the solenoid and see what happens tomorrow. I used to do that all the time on my old Mustangs, but at least those had the solenoid on the sidewall near the battery and not under the car on the starter!!! However, I'm not an automotive electrical systems genius so my question would be: Could the problem really lie in the starter circuit if it died on the highway? Is the starter circuit actually doing any bridging work for the engine's electrical system during normal engine operation???

So following that train of thought I guess the next course of discussion would be, "Is it possible that I have two separate problems, entirely?" One: The car won't crank over, and Two: The car died during normal use.

Thanks again for the advice. This is my third NG900, but my first V-6. Your advice is always appreciated Anders, even when we're trolling and you don't know you're giving it! lol
