<But when I get full juice and turn the key absolutely nothing happens.>
This is the line from your first post that I kind of got stuck on and needed to clarify.
With electrical problems and sitting in front of a computer many miles apart it can take a lot of questions and clarifications to come even close to the problem.
No, the starter doesn't bridge anything to make the fuel injection system work so it doesn't have a connection per see, but it is always good to take one step at the time.
You see, it could very well be that the alternator went bad and the battery got completly drained while driving so that the engine died. And then, the starter or ignition switch just happen to take a dump at the very same time so you are actually chasing two problems at the same time.
Or? The fuel pump died during the drive and the person kept cranking the engine over until the battery died, hooked up another battery and kept cranking until the starter fried.
By jumping the starter you verify if it is good or bad, but make sure that the battery cable is good too so that the starter actually gets a full 12 volt when cranking.
If you also have the ignition turned on when jumping the starter AND the engine happens to start up, then you know it is nothing with the fuel/ignition system and when the engine is running, you can do an AVR test of the alternator and find out if it is bad.
All this, I could have done faster with the car present than it took to write these responses.
That's why I ask certain question to minimize the time and effort when responding and to help out as much as possible.
Good luck
Anders
