The bottom 3" of the front spring broke off my 1999 Convert. I ordered a set of lowering sport springs from Taliaferro (great deal, just over $200!). I read in detail the sport suspension installation PDF on Taliaferro's web page confident I had the tools and skills necessary to change the springs in a few hours. After removing the wheel and examining my suspension, it is quite different from what is depicted on the installation PDF. My suspension does not have two bolts at the base of the strut housing to disconnect the strut from the steering hub. After struggling with it for a while, I put it all back together as is. How do I remove the spring/strut assy without removing the axle from the hub? I attempted to pull the spring down with a spring compressor but there is not enough room to get the spring out of the upper fender without getting the hub down much lower. I have photos if someone could help.
