Do you use new cassettes or use ones?
Did you reset all adaptive values in ECU when switching cassettes?
Since Saab warns about using the wrong IDMs it might be slight chance that something is damaged inside the ECU but I would not be able to tell without plopping a new one in to test with.
But it might be as easy as that the ECU have learned a bad behaviour with the black IDM and you would have to reset the ECU so that it can cope with the red one.
Try to disconnect the battery cables and hold them together for 10-15 min to drain all memory. I'm not entirely sure if that works just as good as using the Tech 2 scanner to reset codes and adaptive values but it is something to try with.
