Great care should be taken with Autozone and codes Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] (#112) [Profile/Gallery] (more from SWEDECAR) on Sat, 18 Mar 2006 12:06:25 In Reply to: CEL but codes are confusing (O2 and auto trans)?, Caarma [Profile/Gallery] , Sat, 18 Mar 2006 09:42:34 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The generic code readers that they use can not fully understand codes that are not regulated under the OBD2 program.
The P1624 (if display is correct) is only an indication that a fault code is logged in the transmission computer and the transmission computer have told the fuel computer about the problem.
So what you need to do is to check the TCM and see what codes are logged there.
Autozone might have just thrown out the slow O2 sensor comment to try to sell you the part and at least make some money off you before you find the real reason.
Without knowing the code in transmission it is hard to say if you can drive the car for a long trip, but if the car is driving fine now without any symptoms, I would guess it is only something minor going on.
