...you've got it off your chest!
I don't know how you'll get them to buy it back unless there was some sort of clear misrepresentation. I don't see it. It's not like it was a CPO; it's a 10 year old car with an unknown maintenance history. Tires and rotors, those are normal wear and tear. Serp. belt, too, is an extremely common failure, not just on an old Saab, but on any used car.
I think the best way for you to get out of the car is to sell it as a private party. You should be able to get 4k for it if its in cosmetically great shape, which it might be. I know you're frustrated, and you're gonna hate the car, so I'd take the loss and move on.
And, here's our long-distance commute tale: We had an '86 900 that stranded my wife twice in the middle of winter on her 100-mile RT commute on Interstate 95. We sold it and bought a new VW Golf, which we got 65,000 trouble-free miles in less than 2 years, then sold for Blue Book value on the nose.
Our cost per mile was about the same, even with payments, because it got great mileage and I wasn't spending 3-400 a month plus my own labor on niggling repairs. And, we got peace of mind! You might do the math on a new car like a Mazda 3.
So I guess what I'm saying is that a well-used car is not what I'd drive for a 110-mile commute.
