The synchros in a tranny stop the gears from moving so they can align.W hen you shift into 4th gear you effectively stop the gears using the foward syncros, then you get into reverse easily. Going straight to reverse means the gears are still spinning. I think you have some tranny wear, but it's worth looking at the mounts, particularly the driver's side tranny mount. You will need to remove one of the under covers or inner fender cover to get a good look at it.
If you jack the car you can loosen the strut bolts and adjust camber a little. Some people slot the holes to get a little more adjsutment. You can do some math calcs to figure out hoe much you need to move the strut at it's fixing point to get the correction you need. My calc's showed that it is really quite a lot that you need to move it to get right - more than I was willing to slot. FYI -lots of these cars have slight camber issues. FYI2 - few cars have adjustment for this these days.
