Jake,
I drove a Porsche Cayman - S is the new version of a blend between the Boxer and the 911. Is an amazing car it handle great specially when you set it to "Sports" mode then suspension is super stiff. It sticks like glue on the turns etc. Now the insurance is very high plus the repairs of the car not to mention the parts.
The BMW M3 is also an amazing car i have never driven one and i bet you the insurance and parts are also very expensive.
If you have the $$$$ to spend on a 911 or M3 go for it.
