coolant changing question

So I was changing my coolant just because it was convinient during maintinence. It is on a 99 9-3 and it was green coolant that was only 16k old on a 116k car. I bought the prestone any make any model coolant to swap into it. However, I am in a bind because tommorow I am going out of town in my car. I was planning on flushing the cooling system out once, then puting in the prestone. But when puting the drain plug back in I snapped it off! Since the coolant is any maake any model i could get away w/o the flush? How readily available are drain plugs? Also, could I just pull the lower radiator hose to get the same drain effect?
