I do not see the GS trans mount helping in this situation because you are stopped when you are going into R (at least during normal conditions). The transmount helps with shifting under power especially the 1-2 shift and 2-3 somewhat. I do notice the vibrations with the GS mount but it's worht it for clean power shifts.
I had the MP short shifter at one point and the adjustment ball would work it's way up and down over time. I should have added a nut to lock it down. Eventually I went with the Saab Savior unit which IMHO is a lot better unit, although more expensive and not adjustable. IAC the short shifters do change the geometry of the shifting a little depending on how you adjust the yoke. But it should not really effect the gear alignment itself.
