You mean the manual cable broke after 8 months, or a new adjustable cable?
I think the pedal gets stiffer when the clutch is near its end of life. I decided to stick with the Saab cable when I replaced my old one. I have not had good experience with other parts from Scantech, so I would avoid them, but I have not seen the Scantech cable. From pics of the three cables side by side, you are correct, the adjustable cables do not seem to have a place for the bracket.
According to the Haynes manual, the pedal stop is adjusted in the factory, and should NOT have to be moved during cable replacement.
