I couldn't get it to work well. I drove with it for 6 months and was constantly adjusting it. I gave up and went back to the OEM model. It was either too high when cold, or too low when hot. On days when there was lots of temperature variation, I couldn't even get it into gear when it was hot in the middle of the day.
The ends of the cable are mounted in so much rubber, that the self-adjusting mechanism is necessary to keep up with the thermal expansion....at least that's my theory.
When I installed it I remember I had to leave it out of the cable guide that the above posts were talking about.
