The shop that is working on my car is a Saab-biased specialty shop (used to be exclusively Saab). They bolted on a replacement turbo for a '99-'01 9-5 to a '99-'01 9-3. The shop said that it went on with no mods, a straight bolt-up. And it's about $100 less than the 9-3 turbo.
The turbo on my car is bad, it needs to be replaced anyway.
This other turbo requires no mods.
It's $100 cheaper.
Why should I look at spending more money on other items that don't need to be replaced and spend more for the stock turbo that does need to be replaced?
Since I'm having to replace the turbo anyway, I'm wanting to know if there's any harm in using the 9-5 turbo.
Now that I've repeated and expanded on the original question, does someone here have an answer or should I repost this on the Performance BB?
