'00 9-3 SE cranks but won't start

My '00 9-3 SE started and ran fine first thing today and has started and run fine several times since. Now it won't catch. Engine cranks over no problem and it even coughed once or twice but it won't fire up. This is the first time this has ever happened. The car usually cranks two or three times but always fires right up after that. No check engine light, no oil light.
Does anyone have any ideas of what I should look for?
Possibly pertinent details:
* I went through the self-serve car wash this morning so possibly some water got into the engine compartment. I has started fine several times since then though.
* I'm about 800 miles into an AutoRX treatment to clean out sludge.
* Took off the engine cover and I see that the crankcase vent hose is broken clean off just behind the PVC nipple. The break looks clean and no oil on it so it broke very recently. Obviously needs to be replaced ASAP but would it prevent starting?
Is it possible that fuel isn't getting delivered? Fuel pump bad? Fuel filter clogged? Any other big possibilities?
Thanks for any ideas!
Seth
