If engine was hot when it would not start... but starts later when cooled off, the crankshaft position sensor is the likely problem. If CPS gone, ECU does not see the engine turning and will not energize the fuel pump or fire the plugs/injectors.
DIC could be failed... ?miles?
Did you smell anything strange under the hood around the DIC connector area? Smoke sometimes seen. Never leave ignition on with a failed or suspect DIC as the current draw in a failed unit can overheat the wiring harness with rare but sever consequences.
If engine turns, sludge and oil are not an issue, engine will start with low or no oil pressure.
Does your low oil pressure warning light come on with the ignition when the engine is not running? If not, the pressure switch has failed and you are flying blind to oil pressure loss.
You have known sludge or the auto-rx is preventative medicine? With 800 miles, are you then meant to change the oil and filter?
Busted PCV nipple would not effect starting. Do make sure that you have the one way check valve still there in the small VAC line. You may have to renew that small hose... could be hardened. You can use 7/32" hose from autoparts or harware store.
Car wash should not be an issue.
Turn on ignition, listen for fuel pump running for a second or two.
