I've used Prestone Coolant Flush, following the instructions on the back.
Then I've used a few extra cycles with just plain water (ie. fill it all up, start the engine, let it heat up, flush, let it cool).
This worked fine.
---
I had a dirty coolant tank. I took it out for cleaning, and was trying all sorts of chemicals in it. I found that it was *very* difficult to get any chemicals to dissolve the accumulations inside. I've used everything from pure alcohol to the harshest carburator cleaners and the goof-off substances that melt plastics and paints. From those experiments I can say that the "cleaning" effect of those "Super Flushes" is going to be zero. The stuff that's hiding inside the cooling system is probably improssible to dissolve and remove.
The only useful effect you are going to be getting is the "flushing", (ie. the old coolant will get removed) -- nothing more. Do not expect any further miracles.
