Gauge / dash indicator problems

Hi,
I hope I am posting in the correct forum as my issue relates to a 1996 Saab 900 SE Turbo. A few weeks ago I started experiencing an issue with my gauges and dash indicator lights. All the gauges drop to the zero or home position and the following indicator lights comes on: fuel low, parking brake engaged and info display (however nothing actually appears on the info display).
At first this problem only happened once in a while and usually only lasted for a second or so. The problem has gradually grown worse over the past few weeks. It is now occuring frequently (as often as once a minute) and sometimes lasts for several minutes although it is usually only a second or two. The problem is intermittent although it does occur immediately following big bumps.
I recently had my battery replaced as my old one was defective but this did not correct the problem. A ground cable was repaired to eliminate corrosion.
Nothing mechanical seems to be effected when this occurs. It is an annoyance and inconvenience but the vehicle is still running properly.
Has anyone had a similar problem or any suggestions on how to proceed in correcting this issue? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading and take care.
-Mike
