tightening the engine bolts appears to have really worked to stop the coolant leak I had begun to experience. (96 900SE Turb Conv 38,000 miles)
I started to experience unexplained coolant loss with no evidence of leaks. Then I noticed operational problems -- what seemed to be missing and sputtering, I got ocassional CEL codes: misfire and crankshaft position sensor. I replaced the spark plugs which showed some coolant burn. Then I found the TSB on this site and tightened the engine bolts, I cleared the codes and once got a crankshaft position sensor code. Cleared it again and the CEL hasn't come back, at least not yet.
Now I get severe sputtering when engaging the turbo, not on surface streets but particularly at freeway speeds. Any ideas?
