hi everyone,
well after paying an exorbitant amount for parts from a local dealer, I have to ask the age old question: is there a significant difference (besides price, obviously) between OEM at the dealer and what is called OEM 'quality aftermarket'?
I had to replace the A/C condenser and receiver-drier. A 20-minute Google search showed 5 different places for about 1/3 to 1/4 of the price, including eEuroparts. I understand paying for quality, I'm no stranger to it...but is getting your parts from the dealer really worth 3x the price?
The dealer here in Van Nuys orders their parts directly from Saab, apparently somewhere in Pennsylvania. I would LOVE to hear of someone who either knows where the factory is, and/or has a contact number, or has spoken to someone there. Do they actually make the parts there, or do they order them from overseas, or is it another awesome GM part that I can look forward to replacing again?
Anyway, I know this topic has been covered in the archives. I'd like some informed opinions, since I am far from the definitive source on the subject. Thanks!
