Inner tie rods is not that hard. I had one replaced because it got bent when a guy tried to replace my outer tie rod end. I also needed the adjustment screw replaced. Your major problem with any of these parts is corrosion. My adjustment screw was so badly rusted that the outer tire rod end was seized to it. If you don't line up the adjustment screw up to the same position then the alignment will be off. So if you are going to do this all by yourself, then make sure to get an alignment after. Honestly, I don't think you should replace the tie rod unless you feel play where it mounts to the rack. That's the most important thing. Hope that helps.
