If anyone wants a mechanics opinion..I think the 0w40 full synthetic is the best choice for a newer or lower mileage engine in almost any climate other than very cold. Higher mileage engines in the same climate do well on the Rotella Syn 5w40. Any cold weather should use the 0w20 syn.
And..to bust the myths, Synthetic oil will not hurt your engine or cause leaks. It is better in every respect for your engine regardless of what you were running previously. Heavy oils like the 15w50 will lower your gas mileage dramatically, and will cause more wear and can damage your rings, and even break them if it gets too cold. Not suggested in smaller high RPM engines.
