I'd be annoyed, too... Posted by Peter [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Re: Annoyed at Saab Customer Support now...(long), Ron, Tue, 10 Oct 2006 16:08:00 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I see your points, esp. since you have a Viggen. That was what, a 40k car 6 years ago? If I'm a dealer, I would treat you like a potential repeat customer. If they flow you $4-500 worth of service now, you might in a few years buy a new Saab. I just don't get that kind of short sighted thinking.
I think a lot depends on the dealer. I usually buy used cars, but a few years ago my wife got sick of her 86 900 crapping out, so we bought a new VW Golf, at a dealer that made most of their money on BMW's (on the Main Line outside Philly). We bought the absolute cheapest car the dealer sold, but every time I took it for scheduled service we were treated like royalty. we got loaners, rides to the train station, full wash/vacuum etc. They even cut us a deal on installing a factory CD changer a few months after we bought the car. The service was so good I could even overlook the body joints that started to creak after 3 months!
I'd go there first if I wanted a BMW or VW again.
As for wheels, yeah the ng900/9-3 ones are junk, but I had the pleasure of owning an Audi GT coupe in the 80s. It was like the rims were made of lead... At least it gave me an excuse to go plus-1 on the wheels/tires!
