Do I buy a new Saab 9-3?

I'm posting on this board because I currently own a 99 9-3 SE and there are plenty of opinions here that I've found valuable. I'm selling my Saab and pondering what's next. I'm looking at either an '02-'03 9-5 Aero or an '03 9-3 210 hp Arc or Vector. I'm leaning toward towards the 9-3 because I like the smaller body. Opinions on which way to go are more than welcome.

My reason for posting is that I'm concerned that the 03 9-3 is the first year of a new model. Can anyone tell me if there have been prevalent issues with this model? Also, I've read that the manual gearbox is slow, so much so that the auto is recommended. Is this true?

Finally, is the 210hp engine offered in all three trim levels, or the Arc and Vector only? I the higher hp engine offered with the auto trans?

Thanks much for any information you can provide.
