Has anyone used a chemical engine oil flush on the 9-3 to remove sludge buildup? How successful was it??
I am not talking about AutoRX. I am referring to a product that you dump into the oil, idle the car for 5 minutes, and drain. You are not supposed to drive the car during the time the flush is in the oil so I assume the lubrication ability is severely reduced.
Situation is that my wife's 1999 9-3 with AT had a sludge problem at 66K that caused the death of the turbo. Sludge was removed and turbo replaced.Oil changes every 5K. At 110K the turbo died again along with timing chain and sprockets. Pan was R&R, sludge removed, turbo/chain/gears replaced. Oil changes since 110K have been every 2.5K-3K. The oil light just started to flicker again at 130K and we immediately parked the car until I can get it into teh shop for another cleaning.
I am wondering if the flush could be used periodically to keep the sludge from forming.
Thanks!
