Need Suggestions - Rear brakes NOT working

Both Drivers side and Passenger side rear discs are NOT working. My plan was to replace the rotors and pads... Friend/tech said they could be sticking but after reading several posts I feel like it might be more complicated than that.
My question is, would I be able to get these to work until I upgrade the rotors in the spring. I would like to wait till winter has passed before replacing old parts. If this IS possible. Is there a diagnostic/check list anyone can give me before I go to work on them this weekend?
Also, I previously posted "Scary braking in Snowy/slippery conditions" and its not simply me getting used to the ABS system but in fact my rear rotors NOT working....... With winter in full effect I would really appreciate any advice or help to get these rear brakes temporarily working until spring comes...
Thanks in advance to everyone who reads this and/or helps me out! It is greatly appreciated!
