I took my 1998 900 SE Convertible Turbo to the shop and I was told I need a new transmition. My car is 9 years old with 126K miles. I thought these cars could last for 200K+ miles. I really do not want to sale it and get another car... I really DONT. But I'm afraid if I replace the transmission for as little as $1300 or $3200 (at the Saab dealership) other stuff will start to go wrong.

My question... should I call it a day and retire the Saab or am I being too premature? Can these cars run for 200K+ miles. For the last 2 years I had to replace the clutch, buy new tires and rims(it seems like every 2 years), replace the DI cassette, and I got a new battery. Please advise.
