Joshua, you sound like you live in an area with a fair amount of bad roads. I'm in NYC and already have spent quite a bit of money fixing them (all four of them). I would not buy another OEM Viggen rims. It is a great pity; Viggen rims are the most beautiful rims for a Viggen, no doubt about that. I love how it completes the look of a Viggen. But, sadly unless you don't recall last time hitting a pothole and have no limitation in your spending, it's not really an economical choice. So, #1 is out for me. However, I totally understand it really makes a Viggen a Viggen.

Now personally I switched to 16" and have no regret because with the roads around me the positive aspects of 16" outweighed negative aspects of them. Most important being my wife being happy with a better ride. I have to say much less bone jarring even on the way to grocery.

You need to set your priorities straight. Do you want looks? Do you want not to be bothered by wheel problems for a while? Do you need a little better ride quality?

I heard most other 17" are better than Viggen rims. So to me that's a better choice than #1. But, I needed better ride quality for my family than better handling on curves at high speed.

All said and done, as many others have noted here I agree a Viggen deserves at least 17". And I would change back to 17" once I move to an area with good roads. But for now, I'm very happy with 16" with nice quiet tires.
