which is different than the conclusion being questionable. I specifically made an allowance for the people who have good experiences with the Kumhos. You have had a great experience. That's awesome, and I don't doubt it one bit. I wish my experience with them was like yours because they are, in fact, less expensive.
But I didn't have a good experience. Mine suck. I don't think you are crazy or incapable of drawing a rational conclusion. Grant me the same.
I'd think I got a single bad set of tires were it not for the fact that others complain about the same thing.
See here: http://www.saabnet.com/tsn/bb/9-5/index.html?bID=137480

and this comment on TireRack: "This set was good until about 10,000 miles, started getting a lot of vibration and hard to keep balanced."
and this one "When I first drove off I felt like I had a new car, smooth and very quiet. As I decided to test a little more things got worse. When speeds get over 60 mph the steering wheel starts to vibrate."
and this one: "I have run these tires for two years now. Before the tires ever saw my car I had a four wheel alignment. At first the tires were smooth and responsive albeit they were more noisy than my previous set. After a few thousand miles the tires went out of balance. Ok, no problem. I will get them rebalanced. These tire were so bad I had to rebalance them every three to four months"
and this one "I am still having balancing issues with these and they came as a wheel/tire package."
and this one "Ive found out why ASXs are so cheap & Ill not ever try Kumho tires again. Ive had these tires balanced 4 times in 2 months and still they vibrate my entire car at highway speeds (my car was glass-smooth prior to installing the ASXs). It isnt severe, but it is not tolerable either."
and then I got tired of looking.
