I agree, it sounds like the ignition switch. There are two components to the switch, the mechanical key lock on top, and below that an electronics package that is the ignition switch itself. A bear to get to. Have to remove the driver's seat, the electrical housing covers between the seats and the lower most dash housing (the one with the environmental switches), loosen the the mechanism housing the switch and the transmission shifter, turn the whole thing on the side, get to the switch, exchange it, then reverse the process. Like I said, a real bear even if you're mechanically inclined. Don't try tackling it unless you're VERY handy, and make sure you've ruled out other issues like the battery connections first before you even think about it. Good luck.
