Thanks for the reply vvk.
From my experience in the past on carburatored VW's, usually when the intake manifold gasket failed it was from something that I did on R/R. I haven't touched a thing that deep. Would you think that it would just fail?
Forgot to mention that all vacuum lines off the TB except fuel related (purge valve) are silicone and all are in good shape.
I am wondering if I should even bother with the purge valve, as I might kill it during cleaning.
