I own a 2001 Viggen 5dr with 84K miles.

Grimey engine - My engine gets dirty but not grimey. Oil pressure box may be leaking.

Heavy acceleration - This is not torque steer. This is due to the strong engine/hp and front wheel drive and the reason for the limited hp in 1st & 2nd gear. Viggen rated to 230hp and 258 ft-lb torque. "To enable the front tires to cope with the amount of torque available, maximum torque is electronically limited in first gear to 184 lb.-ft. and in second gear to 243 lb.-ft." (http://www.saabnet.com/tsn/models/2001/pr22.html)

No maintenance - Suggests neglect. Over its lifetime, my vehicle has needed an AC Compressor, front rotors (replaced every 25K), oil pressure box, clutch, interior door handles, interior cabin temp sensor, sun visor vanity lights caused electrical short and I am now experiencing an ABS issue which the dealer diagnosed as a $3,000 repair. I am researching different options, pull and reman the ABS ECU for $140.

Highly recommend borrowing vehicle from seller and bringing it to service professional you trust to perform detailed inspection. $200 is a small price to pay for peace of mind when spending $10K plus. If the seller won't allow this then he is hiding something. Don't buy it.

Just my 2 cents.

Good luck!
