I use castrol syntech and change the oil every, EVERY 3,000 miles. My car has 306,000 THREE HUNDRED AND SIX THOUSAND MILES and runs like new. - I Change the oil EVERY 3000 miles (religiously) not 3400 not 3500, not 5000 and i've never had any problems with sludge and other crap issuers. - Try and stretch it out longer than that and you'll have problems
THAT IS CHANGE THE OIL EVERY 3000 MILES!!!!!! - again, my car has 306,000 + miles and runs like it first did from the factory. (actually better because of mods, but you get the point)- you can't argue with that many miles. The car with 306K is an 88 SPG, but my 94 NG has 170,000+ and I follow the same regimen with Castrol Synthetic. No sludge, runs great.
Cheap insurance as they say and Synthetic is just a little extra insurance.
